Almería Aquarium

Located in Roquetas de Mar, the Almería Aquarium is a unique centre in Andalusia where, in addition to contemplating the different species that are part of this huge aquarium, you can live unforgettable experiences such as diving with sharks, immersing yourself in the stingray tank marine or feeding Koi carp. The Aquarium is divided into 4 zones: Amazon, Coral Reefs, Oceans and the Mediterranean Sea. It also offers spaces for events & educational visits

Santa Ana Castle

Located on the seashore, next to La Bajadilla beach & the port of Roquetas, this castle was built on the tower of Yusuf I, which served as a lookout to control the cargoes that were made from the salt flats , in the nature reserve of Punta Entinas - Sabinar. The castle was built between the 16th and 17th centuries to protect the town from attacks that could arrive by sea and today it is a centre for exhibitions & key cultural events.

Classroom of the Sea

If you want to discover more about the Mediterranean and its spectacular sea beds, its fauna and its underwater flora, a visit to Roquetas’ Classroom of the Sea is a must! This municipal museum gives you the chance to learn about all the secrets of the sea using innovative technology, interactive games & spectacular projections. It is located in Calle del Puerto and is open all year.

Roquetas de Mar Lighthouse

Although it no longer functions as a lighthouse, this building was recovered by the town due to its great symbolism, since for a long time it was in charge of welcoming the ships that were approaching the port of Roquetas. Today it is part of the so-called cultural triangle that make up the open-air auditorium & Santa Ana Castle, both just a few metres from the lighthouse. Temporary art exhibitions are held here, which are renewed every two weeks

Roquetas Bullring

With a capacity for 8,000 people, this monumental building houses the Roquetas Bullfighting Museum and is also the venue for the great Santa Ana Fair, every 26th of July. Surrounded by bars, restaurants & shops, it is also a place where conferences & exhibitions can be organised. Also from time to time the central moat is transformed and adapted to host macro concerts.

Roquetas Food Market

The municipal market of Roquetas is located right in the heart of the town. Completely renovated and with a very Mediterranean style, it’s an open space where you can stroll through the different stalls of fresh fruit & vegetables, meat, fish, and traditional products of the area. As well as being a good place to discover local products, the market is perfect to sample them, as there are also several bars & restaurants inside.
